During the first convenings of the group, they established a process for ongoing discussions and public engagement:
- There will be a public process during this time, including at least one virtual public meeting and updates presented during South Coast AQMD’s Mobile Source Committee and POLB and POLA Boards of Harbor Commissioner meetings.
- The public will be able to provide written comments during the 45-day period. Written comments will be available on the South Coast AQMD website and the ports’ joint Clean Air Action Plan website.
- Regular informational updates will also be posted on our websites and shared with South Coast AQMD, POLB and POLA board members.
- The group identified the following issues they will work toward resolving:
- Scope and Term of Suspension/Prohibition of Rulemaking
- Enforceability
- The roles and jurisdictions of each party
- Possible additional Clean Air Action Plan+ (CAAP+) Measures
- Joint grant funding advocacy
- CEQA compliance
